The 5 Basic Rules
WELCOME! Please Read Over The Few Simple Rules Below PDF Print E-mail

These 5 Basic Rules are to ensure you understand the style of game play on our servers. If you’re visiting here because you were kicked from a server by an Admin, don’t worry. You may return once your suspension time has expired. We want you to enjoy your time here with us while staying within the boundaries of the established rules.

Should you require any assistance please feel free to contact Sgt.Powers on our forum. Be sure to provide your Screen Name, any Admin you were talking with or that was in the game (designated by {LFNY} in their name) , the server and time you were playing on and any other details you feel would be helpful for us to know. The more info in your request the better we can assist you. Thank you.

While there are several aspects to our style of game play, the {LFNY} approach in the battlefield can be summed up by The 5 Basic Rules. These are the 5 rules that if simply applied in the field will avoid any game play problems. Any other rules, guidance etc.... will fall into place as you go along with admin assistance if needed.

1) STEALTH HUNT

Stealth hunt is simply the method of movement around the map. Crouch and silently, actively, hunt your enemy's at all times. The default game control for this is the ‘c’ key. There are a few times when there is an exception:

Head To Head Battle: You may use upright engagement to out maneuver your opponent while in battle

Crossing Large Open Areas: You may use upright movement to quickly cross a large open area from one point to another. Once destination or cover is reached, you crouch and silently continue your hunt. This is primarily a tactical approach.

2) JUMPING AND DROPPING PRONE

Jumping during head to head battle or excessively hopping around during the game is not permitted. Dropping prone during head to head battle is also not permitted. Jumping and going prone to get on, around or under objects is allowed.

3) SPAWN ENGAGEMENT

While ever effort is made to avoid problems with spawn engagements by modifying our server configuration, the following two actions are still expected of players.

First: If you see a player spawn simply turn away and continue your hunt in another direction.

Second: When you spawn, you are protected for a period of time and your weapon will not be available. There should be a notification on the screen. If you see a player in the immediate area, you are to turn in another direction and continue your hunt. If the player you see is playing correctly, based on the first part, they will also turn away and continue on.

There will probably always be spawn engagement issues and sometimes it just happens. That’s understood. But the above helps to minimize the occurrence.

4) PLAYER BYPASS

In the past we’ve had a few rules about type-killing and bypassing players. Basically, there are times during the game where a player may need to take a moment to do something. A player may have briefly stepped away, had an issue with there PC or most often is an Admin talking to other players. Player Bypass has two parts:

First: If you see a player either with an avatar above their head that their typing or a player that is sitting in a corner, facing into that corner, please do not engage them. Bypass and move on.

Second: If you need to be that player in the corner, try to find an obvious out of the way corner. Also, do not immediately engage a player that bypassed you once you are done. They gave you the respect and courtesy of passing you by, don’t repay them by shooting them in the back.

5) RESPECT

I can't emphasize enough that respect is a major part of {LFNY}. Our servers are modded servers so please don’t complain to us about them. We’ve set them this way on purpose and have many players enjoying them. It may take some getting used to, but we understand that. We expect you to also. We’re also not about score or ranks. We want everyone to enjoy their time on our servers so please show respect to all players and Admins alike.

The above rules are The 5 Basic Rules that a player needs to know in order understand and adhere to the {LFNY} style of game play. However, there are more details in the game that cause questions from players. Our Admins are guided by the entire FAQ which has been compiled from the most common questions that have been asked over the years. Please take a few moments and read them over. It is highly encouraged in order to get a full understanding and enjoyment of the {LFNY} stealthe tactical hunt experience.
