Our server is currently running a Bolt Rifles Mod. This Mod helps maintain a Tactical Stealth Hunt environment. Some of the specific features are described below. We hope you find this greatly reduces the interference caused by players joining the server and not following the rules as well as the need for constant admin intervention. The end result is we all get to spend more time playing the game the way we like.

Mod Download

When connecting for the first time, you will get downloads of the needed files. The total time will depend on your bandwidth. Once complete you should be connected. If you don't connect, simply try again. It shouldn't download any duplicates because you'll already have the mod and should get right in. From then on, unless the Mod changes, you won't have to download again except for maps.

Welcome Screen

Once connected you will be presented with a welcome screen. Our server rules are displayed here. After reading, simply agree to follow the rules by pressing 'Y' and enter the game. Otherwise press 'N' to leave.

Menu Selection

Here you will see a modified menu. Your only option is to select the type of Bolt Rifle you'd like to use. Choose from the Springfield, Arisaka, Kar, or Mosin. Each comes with 1 Frag grenade, 1 Smoke grenade and a Colt pistol. Knives are enabled as default.

Spawn Protection

When spawning you will see a message that says you're under spawn protection. There is a No Shooting icon at the bottom center of your screen. For 6 seconds you are invisible and can not be harmed. You are to use this time to get to cover, not to hunt targets. At the end of the 6 seconds you will 'become visible.

Engagement From Spawn

During the 6 seconds of invisible spawn protection your weapons are disabled. This is simply to help players not take advantage of spawning to kill a player. See our FAQ about engaging to or from spawn. As mentioned under Spawn Protection, you should use this time to get to cover.

Death

Upon death the screen will go black. Once a player is dead, they're dead, so they shouldn't be able to see where there killer goes after dying. This helps reduce a killed player gaining knowledge of where their attacker went. This also helps keep players from acting as recon for their team mates that are still alive.

Weapon Damage

All Bolt Rifles have been slightly increased but are set the same. There is no speed nor damage differences between any of the Bolt Rifles. A head shot is a kill. Sometimes a hit to the upper body will kill. The rest of the body usually takes two shots. Player health regenerates so it may take several shots to get a kill depending on the time between each hit. Knife damage is reduced so is not an instant kill. Usually two swipes of a knife will kill.

Perks

By default, Deep Impact and Stopping Power are enabled. No other perks are enabled at this time.

Server Messages

As you play, messages will appear out of the way in the lower left corner. Frequently asked questions about our rules or our site will be displayed there. Keep an eye out as your questions may be answered there. Also, some additional info is displayed at the center bottom of the screen. 

HUD

The HUD has been redesigned to move everything out of the way while still giving you access to basic information. Also, the Mini Map shows your teammates position relative to yours, but is transparent to prevent obstruction to your view. There is a health bar on the lower left to indicate your, just under the score. The higher teams score will be displayed as the top number. When dogs are acquired you will see an icon of a dog. Having a large clear view should provide the best chance to spot your enemy with the least obstruction.

Hopefully this gives you a good idea of what to expect when connecting to our servers. If you're like us, you'd rather spend your time in a good hunt and head to head fights than being interrupted by Run and Gun players who spray and pray. We look forward to seeing you on our servers.
